3ZnO·2B2O3A white, amorphous powder that is soluble in dilute acids, slightly soluble in water; melts at 980°C; used in medicine, as a ceramics flux, as an inhibitor for mildew, and to fireproof textiles.

Applications :
1. Zinc borate can be used as multi-functional synergistic additives with antimony oxide or other halogenated flame retardants to significantly improve the flame retardant performance, remove smoke emission and adjust the balance on chemical, mechanical, electrical etc properties.

2. As environmental protection substitute to replace current Antimony Oxide or halogen flame retardants, Zinc borate is directly used in PVC, PE, Polyolefin, Epoxy Polyamide etc resins and rubber process. Moreover, it is widely used in textile, fiber, floor, leather, wall paper, carpet, paint etc decorative materials to improve flame retardant performance.

3. Base on its chemical properties, Zinc borate is also used on anti-corrosion, infra red absorption, fungicide for wood preservation etc fields.

Storage : Be stored in a clean and dry storehouse, don't to let it be rained on, no mix storage and transportation with acids is allowed.

The product has been used in a variety of resins such as unsaturated polyester, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyamide, polycarbonate, polystyrene, epoxy resins, polyethylene, polypropylene, natural rubber, polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, and in halogenated insulating materials, outer parts of electronic products, wires and cables. Zinc borate has demonstrated synergistic effects along with halogen-containing flame retardants and smoke suppression, and then replace Sb 2 O 3   completely or partly (50 - 80%) and toxic zinc chromate as rust-proof priming pigment. The product has also been applied as ceramic glaze and as wood antiseptic, and raw material for preparing zero-angle tires, preservatives of paints, bactericide in medicine, and household decorating articles especially used in humid environments.

Property : White crystal powder, without poison, flavor and corrosiveness. Doesn't dissolve in water and other organic solvent, is easy dissolved in hydrochloric acid & sulfuric acid, etc. Good thermal stability, small granule size, less specific gravity and easy dispersed. Good miscibility with most of the polymer. Fewest smoke when burning, excellent performance in inflaming retarding.
It can be widely used in industry of rubber, plastic, fibre, paint, ceramic, medicine. Also used in producing of insulating material & products, rubber tapes & pipes, electrical cables & wires, germicide, mildew inhibitor, and many kinds of fire protection coatings. Good effect when used together with organic halide. The Zinc Borate can be used as fire retardant singly, also can be mainly used instead of stibous oxide; comparing with stibous oxide, the Zinc Borate is cheaper & no poison. The Zinc Borate acts the roles as frit in ceramics, acts the roles as the matching material in Radial tyre, also acts the roles as the preservative in wood industry too. In a word, it is a ideal inorganic fire retardant with function of environment protection.
